You can install the software anywhere on your computer or on an external hard drive. However, the generated files (images, videos, calibration files, and user settings) are saved by default in your local user folder. For example, in Xangle Camera server, the files are saved in c:/users/your-user-name/xangle. There is a shortcut on top of the software for a direct access to the images/videos.
If you need to change the output path (a typical situation when you have a small hard drive), you can go in debug mode (ctrl-shift-d) and change it from there. You'll need to restart the software to apply the changes.
We use a timestamp folder structure which includes a lot of files including the original jpgs, the calibration settings, the calibrated images, the final mp4. Each of these item can be configured individually based on what you need. Go in the Settings panel to set which items you need to keep.
Flat mp4 folder
You can also send your mp4 files to a specific folder where no sub folders are going to be created. This is the best solution when working with an external app to grab the output files (picpicsocial). Use the "Video copy folder" to set this one.
